more of the area surrounding Byron Bay.

on the road to the market....

another nice thing about living in Byron are the many Sunday Markets. This was The Channon Market this past Sunday. This one is located in the town of Channon. It didn't really appear to be much of a town though. very tiny to say the least. Located amongst a most beautiful mountain setting this market draws a big crowd... it had all sorts of great stuff that the other markets have, but it has location, location, location.

i've come to love large open spaces...

Byron Bay is quite close to Lennox Head, where my wonderful friend Steph lives, and where Alexi delivers pizza. Steph gets to look out at this beach every morning. It is not typically this windy here however... tall guy and I were playing tour guide to our friend Carly on this day.

Life in Byron Bay

This is an aerial shot of Byron Bay. (I obviously did not take this photo). It is here merely to point out or rather circle, where it is I currently live. We're sharing a house in the Sunrise district of Byron Bay. Suburbia really. Our housemate is a nice Aussie guy who has turned out to be thoroughly normal (a very important quality for a housemate). We're quite close to Sunrise Beach. Just a quick little bushwalk away from from a nearly deserted coast line. It makes living here very nice, as you can avoid the crowds of the popular tourist beaches surrounding the town itself. I can easily find myself all alone out there. it's fantastic.

Setting the Record Straight

now, you may have seen a similar photo on the tall guy's website... the primary difference between the photos you see, is that little book lying on the ground... that's the van's manual. this is by no means an attempt to discredit the skills of this handy man, otherwise known as Alexi Hobbs. It is merely to point out that there were other people involved in the process (i.e. Miss Sam Ryan). I suppose I was a bit of an instruction giver.... a boss if you will... the brains behind the operation.... Now let's all take this opportunity to congradulate Hobbs in a job well done. Good work!

Aussie Pies

Australia has a large assortment of pies that one can choose from. The meat pie, pictured here, appears to be a particular favorite of Mr.Hobbs. Can you see him enopy this stuff...?
